Traveling to someplace that I've never been -- Australia & New Zealand. Originally I thought I would spend most of my time in New Zealand and end my journey in Tahiti -- but after doing some research, I decided on the following itinerary:
- 6 nights in Sydney, Australia
- 4 nights in Auckland, New Zealand
- 21 nights in an RV touring New Zealand. My plan is to travel NZ from head to toe (so North Island & South Island) -- but I'm leaving it all open. The only thing pre-planned is the ferry crossing between the 2 islands. I'll pick the RV up in Auckland (North Island) and drop it off in Christchurch (South Island).
- 8 nights in Nelson, New Zealand
- 1 transit night in Auckland, New Zealand
- 12 nights in Tasmania, Australia
- 5 nights in Darwin, Australia
- 1 night on "The Ghan" -- train trip from Darwin to Alice Springs
- 6 nights exploring the Outback (including Uluru/Ayers Rock)
- 1 night in Adelaide, Australia
- 2 nights on Kangaroo Island, Australia
- 5 nights driving the Great Ocean Road (Adelaide --> Melbourne)
- 15 nights in Melbourne, Australia
- 1 transit night in Sydney, Australia
