Lots of kangaroos & cockatoos out and about this morning!
Left Lorne around 9:00am and continued my drive north on the Great Ocean Road. I had to make sure that I was in Melbourne by 2pm to pick up my apt keys -- so only made a couple of stops on the drive. After lunch in Torquay -- I headed inland to the Melbourne Airport -- dropped off my rental car -- and then took a taxi into Melbourne to my apartment where I'll be staying for the next couple of days (see Day 75 for more info).
Weather: mostly sunny, 45 - 65F
Miles Walked: 4.5
kms Driven: 170
Pic Notes:

Pic Notes:
- 1 - 6: cottage
- I especially like #2 -- the cockatoos would first land on the roof of the cottage and check things out before hopping down to the bird feeder.
- 7 - 12: Split Point Lighthouse / Aireys Inlet
- random tidbit for the day: the original British-made Fresnel lens is still in use in the lighthouse. However -- the factory where the lens was built was bombed in WWII -- and the formula for making the unique lens crystal was lost -- so hopefully they won't need a replacement.
- 13 - 14: Torquay - very cute town -- nice restaurants and some cool shops (I guess I was tired of taking photos and only took a couple of the beach -- none of the town)
