My Melbourne apartment is in the Fitzroy suburb of Melbourne (about 2km NE of the central business district). Very nice apartment -- with a big deck facing North (so nice & sunny) -- the owner is Swedish -- as are most of his furnishings -- and a lot of the artwork on the walls). There are 2 bedrooms -- both pretty small --- but more than enough space for me.
Today was ANZAC Day -- so everything was closed until at least 1pm. In the afternoon, I took a walk around 2 of the bigger streets in the area (Brunswick & Smith Streets). Lots of cool stores and tons of restaurants.
Also -- a lot of coffee shops / cafes -- Melbourne is known for it's coffee -- so I've decided to hit at least 1 of the "cool" coffee cafes a day. (note: it's funny when you ask people here about where to get a good cup of coffee -- everyone says that you can go anywhere -- that there is no bad coffee in Melbourne -- hard to believe!)
Weather: sunny, 55 - 68
Miles Walked: 3.7
Book/s Read: Bullseye (kindle short story) by David Baldacci. Just ok.
