Great birdwatching around Sydney (especially in the botanical gardens) ... here are some of what I've seen so far (there are about 800 species of birds in Australia -- so obviously have just scratched the surface).
Australian Raven
Sulphur-crested Cockatoo
Galah
Crimson Rosella
Some kind of Rosella
Blue-billed Duck (very bad pic)
No Idea
Rainbow Lorikeet
Australian White Ibis
Magpie-lark
Masked Lapwing

Fantastic birds--hard to believe they are just hopping around loose!
ReplyDeleteI know! There were 5+ rainbow lorikeets in that bush -- I was sitting on a bench next to the bush for quite awhile (reading) and heard birds chirping about within the bush -- but couldn't see them -- and then boom, 4 of them flew away and 1 came out to eat. Very cool.
