I have discovered that there isn't a lot to do in Auckland unless you have a car. Which has worked out just fine since I need some time to plan out at least the beginning part of my RV trip (which starts on Friday - Day 12). As I noted yesterday, the internet is pretty slow here in NZ (I think it's on the end of the web pipe) -- and as of tomorrow -- I won't have free hotel wifi -- so will need to look for hotspots (so expect my postings to be less frequent and multi-days posted at once).
I did go to a really cute place for lunch --- DeBretts Kitchen at Hotel DeBrett. I ordered the 3-course fixed price (which they call a Square Meal -- and serve altogether on 1 square plate). The meal was delicious -- but the highlights were the goat cheese with the beets and the vanilla fromage blanc with the berries.
Weather: cloudy/rainy, 70-75F
Wine: Turanga Creek, Pinot Gris (great with a chicken curry)
Miles Walked: 3
