Day 2: Sydney

Landed in Sydney around 8:30am.  Zipped through immigration and customs -- and then caught a taxi to my hotel --- Sydney Harbor Marriott by Circular Quay (pronounced "key").   I'll spend 6 nights at this Marriott.  Fortunately they were able to give me a room right away -- so I took a short nap & shower -- and then went out exploring.  Walked down to Circular Quay and then over to the Sydney Opera House (where I bought a ticket to see "Carmen" on Saturday night) and then to the Royal Botanical Gardens.  Stopped along the way for a quick lunch -- decided to start taste testing Australian / New Zealand wines at lunch -- had a very nice Sauvignon Blanc -- Starborough from NZ.

Met a couple of locals -- people are very nice -- and very chatty.  Got a bunch of recommendations for lunch/dinner -- probably won't go to any of them (not sure if I'm ready to eat wallaby) -- but nice to have options.

Went back to the hotel around 6pm -- and struggled to stay awake until 10pm.

Weather:  cloudy, sunny, cloudy; 75 - 80F
Miles walked:  5.9
Book/s Finished:  The Invention of Wings, Sue Monk Kidd (very good!)
Transportation:  Taxi
