I spent most of the day at MONA (Museum of Old & New Art). It's the private collection of David Walsh, an Australian professional gambler.
We took a catamaran from the harbor right across from the hotel to the museum -- about a 25 minute ride north on the Derwent River. The museum is on the grounds of the Moorilla winery (also owned by David Walsh). Very, very, very weird museum -- some very cool exhibits (like the words in water) and lots of very strange & disturbing exhibits -- there were few things in the museum that I would classify as "beautiful". We had lunch in the wine bar next to the museum -- very good (especially liked their Sparkling Riesling).
Got back to Hobart CBD around 4:30 -- walked around for a bit -- grabbed some fish & chips for dinner and that was pretty much it for the day. We have an early start tomorrow (7:00 am). Off to Strahan -- up the west coast. Not sure if I'll have internet access or even a cell signal over the next couple of days.
Weather: mix of sun & clouds, 52 - 70F
Miles Walked: 5.2
pic note/s (once again uploaded in some random order):

- 1: Hobart in the morning
- 2 - 4: MONA
- 5: Hobart
- 6: chicken salt -- you see it at at most fish & chips shops (and actually a lot of restaurants) -- weird stuff -- not sure I like it -- sometimes it contains chicken extracts -- sometimes it doesn't --- must be to leave the vegetarians guessing.
- 7 - 9: Derwent River
- 10: entrance to MONA
- 11: Derwent River
- 12 - 14: MONA
- 15 - 18: Hobart. Kids all wear uniforms to school in Australia & New Zealand -- one school in Hobart even has hats as part of the uniform.
