Flew from Auckland to Hobart today (with a 2.5 hour layover in Melbourne). Good flights -- long day though.
Met up with my tour group tonight for dinner. There are 33 of us on the tour. Nice group -- very well traveled. I'm the only person not from Australia or New Zealand -- I'm also the youngest in the group (by far). It's going to be an interesting 2 weeks!
We'll cover more than 2,000km during the trip -- I am glad that I don't have to do all that driving. Although I've become used to driving on the left -- I do find it tiring at times.
Weather: mixed sun & clouds, 55 - 70F
Miles Walked: 4.3
Book/s Read: The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. Somehow missed this book when it was published in 2005. The writing style is a bit odd -- and at times annoying (I don't really like when they tell you that something is going to happen -- like a forced page turner). Some of the writing was beautiful -- and overall I liked the book.
Pic notes: the last pic is the view from my hotel room -- just beautiful; the boat in pic 8 is the MY Steve Irwin flagship of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society and is used in their campaign against whaling.
