No internet again today. It's been raining all day and the hotel says that the rain kills their wi-fi.
We went on a small tour around the park today in the pouring rain. First stop was Dove Lake. We could view Cradle Mountain for about 1 minute and that was it. Second stop was Gustav Weindorfer's cabin. Gustav lived in the area in the early 1900s and was the impetus for the creation of the park:
"This must be a National Park for the people for all time. It is magnificent, and people must know about it and enjoy it."
I spent the afternoon snuggled in front of my fireplace - reading and napping - quite nice! And had a great massage in the evening in the lodge spa. I did go for one of the short walks around the park -- mostly in the forest so protected by the trees (my pants were still pretty soggy by the time I got back -- I should have brought waterproof pants with me)

Today is the halfway point for my sabbatical. I feel like I've been gone forever and also like I've just started.
Weather: rain, lots of rain, 50 - 55F
Miles Walked: 2
Book/s Read: In the Bleak Midwinter by Julia Spencer-Fleming. Since I enjoyed the latest book in this series, I decided to go back and start from the beginning. This one was good also (and now I'm reading #2 in the series).
Pic Notes: bird - Green Rosella
